Zara's markers
I had lots of fun making this marker roll for Zara. I used this tutorial, just changing a few things since I was using thin markers instead of colored pencils. I only used scraps that I had on hand to match up each pocket with the color of the markers. I had bought this fun stripe material a while ago just because I liked it. It seemed just right for the back.

Yo-yo Kit
I have a tough time deciding what size yo-yo I need sometimes. I know, I know...they are half of the circle diameter. But for some reason I just need to see them. So I made my own little yo-yo kit. I traced circles that were 2,3,4,5,6, and 7 inches in diameter, using cardboard. Then I made a fabric yo-yo with each size labeling the diameter on the back of the fabric. Next time I need one (or two or three or ten!) I will be able to see exactly which size. I think I might make a pillow cover with different size yo-yo's. What do you think?
Spring bag
A friend asked me to make a bag for her. We picked out the material and ta dah!
I've been loving yo-yo's lately. Can you tell?
Had a few scraps left so made a clutch to match.
And someone please tell me why I can't rotate pictures sometimes! Errrrr.

Shower Redo
We removed the sliding door in our shower yesterday.
I made a shower curtain and love the change it made.
I used three different fabrics, piecing them in different widths
to make a long piece. Then I cut it into two parts horizontally.
I used directions from this site.

The curtains don't match the wall color too well, but I loved the fabric.
I think I see a paint brush in my future.

Memory Game
This project didn't require much sewing, but it was lots of fun to make. It's a memory game like the ones you can buy, only this one is personalized.
I bought these wooden pieces. They are about the size of playing cards. I had 24 cards.
When I was in visiting, I took lots of pictures of Caden's favorite things. I printed out two copies of each. Then I cut them just a little smaller than the cards.
Using Mod Podge, I glued the pictures onto the cards. Then I put three coats of Mod Podge over the pictures to fasten them down securely. I also cut scrapbook paper to fit on the back and used the same Mod Podge procedure.
Finally, I sprayed the cards with an acrylic sealer so they wouldn't get sticky.
Then I made a bag to keep the cards in, along with some little directions.

I saw this idea here and had so much fun making these books for the little girls.

Car Cozy
This is a portable car cozy. Love the fabric from Riley Blake.
I found these car buttons at Joann Fabric.
I attached the button with a hair elastic. I'm not sure it is sturdy enough, but we'll see.
Inside the car cozy is a road and "garage" space for six cars.
Since this was for Caden, I put in six cars that Zach used to play with. Caden has lots of other cars, but it was cute that he only wanted "Daddy's" cars in the little pockets when we played with it.
