Bird mug rugs

Once again, I don't remember where I saw this idea.  The little squares around the outside finish off at 3/4 inch.  All of the stitching was done on the machine.

Caden's car quilt

I found this cute fabric I couldn't resist and knew I wanted to make a quilt for Caden's new bed.

I loved the string of cars and decided to make them look like they were following each other around the quilt.

Then I pieced a little road for them to "travel" on.  I put a narrow black border between each section and finished it off with a black and white stripe binding.

I had purchased several pieces from this line, not really planning ahead of time how I would use them.  When I decided to use them for the back, I really had to juggle the pieces to make it big enough, but it turned out fun.

This quilt started with an online fabric swap I wrote about here.  

The pattern is called Disappearing Nine Patch.

Isn't this a perfect place to read books to the grandkids?
